The foundation of our approach and the Hind Gut Formula was developed by Doug Armstrong, DVM. With over 40 years of dedicated experience in equine veterinary medicine, Dr. Armstrong has continually sought to address the root causes of performance limitations and discomfort in athletic horses.
The testing modalities and management recommendations for Subclinical Right Dorsal Colitis (SCRDC) were formulated exclusively by Dr. Armstrong and are not available anywhere else. Equine Performance Microbiome is the only system designed to prevent horses without SCRDC from being treated unnecessarily.
Over the past eight years, our evaluation and diagnostic protocols have been rigorously refined through direct clinical work with hundreds of horses. This ongoing study is the next step in bringing structured, data-driven understanding to hindgut health, aiming to support veterinarians and owners in making informed care decisions.
